Itinerary

Your journey commences with your arrival at Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu, Nepal. After immigration and customs formalities, you will be warmly greeted by your guide or a tour agency representative, identifiable by a sign bearing your name. They will assist in transferring you to your hotel in Kathmandu. During this transfer, you can absorb your initial impressions of this vibrant city. Upon hotel arrival, you can check in, freshen up, and unwind. Depending on your arrival time and energy levels, consider exploring nearby areas, acquainting yourself with the locality, exchanging currency if required, or purchasing essential supplies for your forthcoming trek.

Begin your day with an early domestic flight to Lukla, offering stunning mountain vistas. Once in Lukla, embark on your trek to Phakding, a quaint village nestled along the Dudh Koshi River. The descending trail through verdant forests and across suspension bridges leads to an overnight stay in Phakding.

Continue your trek along the Dudh Koshi River, crossing several suspension bridges and ascending challenging trails. After an arduous climb, reach Namche Bazaar, the bustling gateway to the Everest region. Spend your time exploring the local markets, visiting the Sherpa Museum, and marveling at the magnificent Everest and other neighboring peaks.

This day is devoted to acclimatization to prevent altitude sickness. You'll ascend to higher elevations on a short hike and then descend back to Namche Bazaar, adapting to the thinning air and increasing your chances of a successful trek.

Depart Namche Bazaar for Tengboche, a village renowned for its ancient monastery. Traverse through rhododendron and pine forests and enjoy splendid views of Everest, Ama Dablam, and other majestic peaks. Upon arrival in Tengboche, visit the monastery and partake in evening prayers.

Progressing on the journey, descend through forests and cross the Imja Khola. Upon ascending again, witness landscapes transform into a more barren and rugged terrain. Rest for the night in Dingboche, a picturesque village cradled in a broad valley.

Dedicate another day to acclimatization in Dingboche. Hike to higher elevations like Nagarjun Hill or Chhukung Valley for breath-taking panoramas and to aid your body in adapting to the altitude.

Depart Dingboche and follow the trail that ascends gradually towards Dughla. Along the journey, encounter poignant memorials dedicated to mountaineers who tragically lost their lives in the Everest region. After Dughla, undertake a steep climb to Lobuche, a humble settlement cradled in the Khumbu Valley.

Start your day with a trek to Gorak Shep, the final settlement before reaching Everest Base Camp. Upon reaching Gorak Shep, brace yourself for the challenging but awe-inspiring hike to Everest Base Camp. The last stretch rewards you with breathtaking vistas of the Khumbu Icefall and its surrounding peaks. After an eventful day, return to Gorak Shep to rest for the night.

In the early morning, ascend to Kala Patthar, a viewpoint renowned for panoramic views of Mount Everest, Nuptse, and nearby peaks. After absorbing the enchanting sunrise scenery, descend to Gorak Shep and proceed to Pheriche to spend the night.

Continue the descent, retracing your steps back to Namche Bazaar. Journey through Tengboche and other villages, experiencing familiar landscapes from a different perspective. Make Namche Bazaar your resting stop for the night.

Continue your descent towards Lukla, traversing forests, crossing suspension bridges, and passing quaint Sherpa villages. After a lengthy but gratifying trek, arrive in Lukla and celebrate the triumphant completion of your Everest Base Camp journey.

On the final day of the trek, take a scenic flight from Lukla back to Kathmandu. Once in Kathmandu, unwind, reflect on your monumental adventure, and experience the vibrancy of the city.

Spend your last day of the Everest Base Camp trek exploring Kathmandu or participating in any leftover activities. Visit local markets, savor Nepalese cuisine, or meander through the city at a leisurely pace. Depending on your flight schedule, a transfer will be arranged to Tribhuvan International Airport in Kathmandu for your departure. Keep a keen eye on your flight timing and ensure you leave ample time for airport procedures. Aim to arrive at the airport a few hours before your scheduled departure to ensure a seamless check-in and security process. With all formalities completed, board your flight and bid a fond farewell to Nepal, carrying with you the indelible memories of your extraordinary Everest Base Camp adventure.

Altitude Sickness

Altitude Mountain Sickness is an illness as an effect of high altitude resulting in a rapid change in air pressure (air gets thinner) and oxygen level (less oxygen to breathe). These are a group of symptoms that arise while walking at a high altitude (more than 2,500m above sea level) without properly acclimatizing the body. The point to be noted is that AMS can occur to anyone, even those with great physical fitness as it depends upon several factors. The most prominent factors are how much elevation you are gaining in what period of time, the place where you live, and the altitude there. Previous records of Altitude Sickness can also determine if you will get AMS.
